Breezy Hill: A Majestic Residential House

A Gorgeous and Elegant Design by Bass Design Inc

Breezy Hill, designed by Bass Design Inc, is a residential house that stands out with its gorgeous and elegant exterior. The slanted walls, contrasting with the genial style, create a majestic impression. The front entrance, carved out in the expanded sloped walls, imaginatively resembles caves, adding a touch of warmth and charm to the design.

What sets Breezy Hill apart is its unique integration of interior architecture and landscape design. Dong Teng Resort, located in Beitou, is part of this project and occupies the ground floor, separate from the residential housing on the other floors. This commercial hot spring space provides a distinct and independent experience for residents and visitors.

The design of Breezy Hill showcases the thoughtful use of natural light. Sunlight filters through the ceiling windows on the ground floor, creating a cheerful atmosphere. The systematic decorations of stone tree wells, wall columns, and ceiling windows contribute to an orderly impression. The magnificent mirror pool reflects the stunning scenes of the building and the natural environment of Beitou.

Spanning over 23,000 square meters, Breezy Hill offers ample space for residents to enjoy. The design team, including CHEN, SHIH-YING, CHEN, HSU-YING, and LIU, YU-CHIEH, carefully crafted the transitions of indoor spaces, unveiling the conversions among areas. The elegant design skills simplify sophisticated ideas, creating complementary and exclusive indoor and outdoor spaces.

The sunken lounge in the front courtyard is a highlight of the design. Extensively furnished with folding doors, it extends the indoor view to the outdoor space. The mirror ceilings reflect both the indoor and outdoor scenes, signifying the passage of time.

The design of Breezy Hill presented several challenges that the team successfully overcame. The stone walls, grasslands, waterscape, and stone pathways were carefully designed to establish distinctive material qualities in the outdoor landscapes. These elements intensify visual perceptions while harmonizing with the overall design. The isolated hot spring spaces, partially located outdoors, act as building exterior ornaments, enhancing the spatial extensity and ensuring privacy.

Breezy Hill, completed in October 2016 in Taipei City, Taiwan, is a testament to the creativity and technical prowess of Bass Design Inc. The project seamlessly combines interior architecture and landscape design, creating a unique and inviting residential house. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019, recognizing its outstanding and ingenious design that enhances the quality of life.
